Splendor in the Glass

Here are some views of my new work environs in the Financial District.

North End Avenue

Murray Street – food shops and such

Tulips
Tulips on the Glass – Brookfield Place

Fashion window

Models on the Glass – outside Brookfield Place

glass building

Behind building (excuse my thumb, upper left corner)

water view

My favorite view (non-glass)

What though the radiance
 which was once so bright
 Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
 Of splendour in the grass,
 of glory in the flower,
 We will grieve not, rather find
 Strength in what remains behind;
 In the primal sympathy
 Which having been must ever be;
 In the soothing thoughts that spring
 Out of human suffering;
 In the faith that looks through death,
 In years that bring the philosophic mind.

–William Wordsworth

My best wishes to all for a glorious Memorial Day weekend!

  1. Yikes! Two hours each way= 4hrs=1/2 of a work day.
    How can anything be worth that!!?? – unless of course, you are raking in mega bucks.
    Yes NYC offers many splendors- glass and otherwise- yet it takes its toll of those who have gone
    beyond buoyant twenty-somethings.
    ‘ If you ain’t usin’ “IT” – “IT” will use you. As if some psychic vampire, sucking the life force from
    your soul….
    At least you have Lorin, Bernie and the crew to come home to and feel the love.
    Enjoy your respite, while having a thought or two, ‘in memory’ for all those who gave all
    so that now, “we” can have a “holiday” -even if so many
    of our modern day conflicts abroad were brought about by sick, greedy power freaks,
    who lied to advance their own agenda in the name of, “National Security”- and not to the
    benefit of their fellow citizens.
    Yes! leave the race to the rats…
    Wish youz guyz every success with the move and beyond.

    • Nope, not worth it. I’m making a good wage, but not mega bucks, so definitely not worth it. Hope all is well with you and your family, TC. Thank you for your service to our country. It is indeed because of those who sacrificed their lives that we can enjoy this 3-day weekend.
